Good afternoon, First Grade Spanish Track Padres,

It was wonderful to see so many parents volunteering at the Book Fair and supporting our children’s love for reading and our school last week! Here are a few relevant updates: 

I Classroom
1) New! Holiday Celebration (students only): Sign-up here. Our littles will celebrate the holiday season with a cozy viewing of The Polar Express on Dec 19! Help make it special by signing up to support. Specific brands/flavors are required to accommodate allergies. Due by: Please send items by Monday morning, Dec 16 (or earlier!).

2) Holiday Mystery Reader (sign-up): Thank you to AJ’s and Valentino’s parents for captivating our children with your engaging readings last week! This week, Ibrahim’s parents will read an English book in Ms. Hartness’s class, while Ace’s parents will share a Spanish story in Sra. Gomez’s class. Next week, we’ll wrap up our Holiday Mystery Reader series with Seven H’s parents reading an English book in Ms. Hartness’s class and Boss’ parents sharing a Spanish book in Sra. Gomez’s class. Thank you to all our parent readers for making this season special!

II) School Related and PTCC initiatives: Be sure to register on the new PTCC website to stay updated on events, volunteering, spirit wear, and news. 

1) GLOBE STAFF GIFT FUND by PTCC: Winter break is near, and it’s GLOBE’s tradition to thank our incredible teachers and staff for their dedication this semester. Instead of collecting individual gifts through Room Parents, the GLOBE PTCC coordinates a Staff Gift Fund to ensure every teacher and staff member feels valued.

How It Works: 100% of donations go directly to our teachers and staff as a heartfelt thank-you for their dedication to our community.
Suggested Donation: $50 per child (or whatever amount feels right for your family). Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference and directly supports our amazing educators. Donate here to Access the Staff Gift Fund

2) Used Uniform SALE @ LC Village Plaza on Dec 13: The PTCC is hosting a Used Uniform Sale and needs volunteers for setup on Thursday, Dec 12 in the afternoon, and during the sale.

Volunteer Link: Please note, there will be no used uniform collection at the sale event.

3) Be a GLOBE Parent Ambassador: Share your experiences with prospective families during school tours for the 2025-26 admissions season. Sign up here for available slots, including an evening tour on Jan 22, 2025. Questions? Contact Tamiko Walker-Jones, Admissions Coordinator.

4) Lost & Found Cleanout at LC (Fri, Dec 20): Lost and found items will be donated on Friday, Dec 20. Please check this and next week, during the school hours for any lost items. To volunteer for the cleanout @LC sign up here for shifts between 7:30 AM and 2 PM. You’ll need to log in to the PTCC website to see the slots.
