Parent-Teacher Conference (Nov 5-6):
– Be on time: Arrive promptly for your conference, whether virtual or in person (schedule is tight with 48 families over two days). If you arrive late, you will not be able to meet for the full 15 minutes.

Independent Learning Days (Nov 5-6):
– Teachers sent home assignments and a bag of English and Spanish books.
– For any child who was absent or lost their package, click here for the electronic version of the assignments.
Please ensure your child completes and returns the work, and remind them to include their names on all submissions.

Here are a few highlights from recent school and teacher newsletters we thought you’d find helpful.
1) Important! Tue, Nov 5 – Wed, Nov 6 (No School) – please see the Nov 1 newsletter from our teachers for guidance on Independent Learning Days and Fall 2024 Parent-Teacher Conferences.
a) Independent Learning Days: All GLOBE students will learn from home. See GLOBE’s FAQs.
– Assignments: Our teachers will send home printed student work for both Tue and Wed.
– Book bags: Books in both English and Spanish will be sent home in book bags. Please keep these in backpacks when not in use to avoid losing any.
b) Fall 2024 Parent-Teacher Conference (Sign-up Link): Please check the sign-up spreadsheet to confirm your date, time, and if you’ll attend virtually OR in-person.
– NOTE:Be on the lookout for the teachers’ email today; they will send the virtual meeting link.
2) Field trip to High Museum of Art – Wed, Nov 13 (9am-1:15pm): This exciting trip allows first-grade students to tour the museum, explore various art forms and cultures, and participate in a hands-on art workshop. They will discover how artists use different materials to depict animals through The High Museum’s collection, all while aligning with Georgia standards in science, language arts, and visual arts.
Payments: Due by Nov 11. Payment via MyPaymentPlus OR via check/ money order/ cash by contacting the LC front office.
Consent Form: Click here to complete and send this with your child to school.
Attire: Students should wear either spirit wear or their uniform.
Lunch at the Museum: You can either order a sack lunch from the school or bring your own in a ziplock or paper bag.
3) GLOBE Trot @ LC on Nov 15: Parents are invited to join next Fri, Nov 15, to cheer on our children! Currently, Sra. Gomez’s class has impressively exceeded their goal, reaching 112%, while Ms. Hartness’s class is at 51% and could use our support. Let’s finish strong and show our school spirit!

II) School Related and PTCC initiatives: Be sure to register on the new PTCC website to stay updated on events, volunteering, spirit wear, and news.
1) Spirit Night- Hawks vs. Celtics (today), Mon 4, 2024 @ 7:45pm @ State Farm Arena: Will the home team triumph over the defending NBA champions? Tickets are selling out fast, so don’t miss out! See flyer: click here | Purchase tickets: click here.
2) Lost & Found Cleanout at LC (this Fri, Nov 8): Lost and found items will be donated by this Friday. Please check this week, during the school hours for any lost items. To volunteer for the cleanout @LC sign up here for shifts between 7:30 AM and 2 PM. You’ll need to log in to the PTCC website to see the slots.
